Job Description

E. & J. Gallo Winery is seeking a dedicated and vigilant On-site Security Officer to protect our corporate facility in Modesto, California. This vital role is central to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, and assets. As a Security Officer, you will be the first line of defense, responsible for upholding the highest standards of security protocols and professionalism. You will perform regular patrols, monitor surveillance systems, control access points, and respond promptly to any security incidents or emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas within the corporate facility, both on foot and via vehicle, to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment for suspicious activity or potential threats.
  • Control access to the facility, verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, and maintaining accurate logs of all persons entering and exiting.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, security breaches, medical emergencies, and other incidents, coordinating with emergency services as needed.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to employees and visitors, while maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
  • Conduct initial investigations into security-related incidents and report findings to management.
  • Participate in emergency drills and training sessions to maintain preparedness for various scenarios.
  • Operate and maintain security equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning correctly.

Required Skills

  • Valid California BSIS Guard Card (Bureau of Security and Investigative Services)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate security equipment and basic computer systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs for extended periods.
  • Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a corporate or industrial security setting.
  • Experience with access control systems and CCTV monitoring software.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal security regulations.
  • Advanced de-escalation and conflict resolution training.
