Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and thorough On-site Cleaner to join our team in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of a prominent public building in Lancaster, California. This vital role contributes directly to public health, safety, and overall positive experience for visitors and staff. As an On-site Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring all assigned areas are spotless, sanitized, and presentable, adhering to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety protocols. You’ll work independently and as part of a team, utilizing various cleaning techniques and equipment to uphold our commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing surfaces in public areas, offices, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms thoroughly, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Empty waste bins and transport trash to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazardous cleaning chemicals.
- Address immediate cleaning needs and respond to spills or emergencies promptly.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with building occupants and the public.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards observed during cleaning activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in commercial or institutional cleaning.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience cleaning in a public building or government facility setting.
- Familiarity with green cleaning practices and sustainable products.
