Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all daily kitchen operations, ensuring seamless service and adherence to operational standards.
  • Develop and innovate seasonal menus, specials, and culinary offerings that reflect our authentic Italian heritage while appealing to contemporary tastes.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations and procedures.
  • Control food costs by managing inventory, minimizing waste, negotiating with suppliers, and implementing efficient ordering systems.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency for all dishes served.
  • Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service flow and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Manage kitchen equipment maintenance and ensure proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Stay abreast of culinary trends and best practices to continuously enhance the dining experience.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work culture, upholding San Marino Ristorante's values.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Italian cuisine and culinary techniques.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP) and kitchen sanitation standards.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and budget planning.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Culinary degree or relevant professional certification from an accredited institution.
