A Spice of Life Catering, Boulder’s premier catering company, is seeking a dedicated On-site Catering Assistant for our daytime shifts. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll be instrumental in bringing our clients’ visions to life across various stunning venues in Boulder and the surrounding areas. As a Catering Assistant, you’ll be a frontline ambassador of our renowned service, working directly with our culinary, event management, and serving teams to ensure every detail of an event, from the initial setup to the final breakdown, runs seamlessly and exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading, transportation, and unloading of catering supplies, food, and equipment to various event locations.
- Execute precise setup of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, dishware, flatware, glassware, and buffet lines according to event specifications.
- Support the culinary team with final food preparation, plating, and presentation as needed.
- Provide excellent on-site customer service, greeting guests, answering questions, and assisting with any requests in a professional and friendly manner.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, ensuring proper portion control and adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of serving areas throughout the event.
- Assist with the breakdown of event spaces, including cleaning, packing up equipment, and ensuring the venue is left spotless.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members and event managers to ensure smooth event execution.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and move quickly between tasks.
- Reliable transportation to and from our Table Mesa location and various event sites.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and ability to follow directions.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in catering, food service, or event support roles.
- Valid Colorado Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Experience with event setup and breakdown logistics.
- Flexible schedule, with availability on weekdays and occasional weekends as events demand.
