We are actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic rehabilitation team in Indianapolis, Indiana. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to assess patients' functional abilities, limitations, and needs across various domains.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practice.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including therapeutic exercise, functional training, cognitive retraining, adaptive equipment recommendations, and environmental modifications.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals, home exercise programs, and adaptive techniques to promote long-term independence.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and nurses, to ensure holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment progress, and discharge planning in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical skills and service delivery.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and students as needed, providing guidance and mentorship.
Required Skills
- Current or eligible for Indiana Occupational Therapist licensure.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Clinical experience in a hospital or clinical setting (fieldwork experience counts).
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, theories, and treatment techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient, family, and team interactions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice.
- Eligibility for employment sponsorship (H1B, Green Card, etc.) is considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty certifications (e.g., Certified Hand Therapist, Certified Brain Injury Specialist).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
- Previous experience working with a diverse patient population and complex cases.
