Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on various mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, rotating machinery, and static equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and carry out effective repairs to restore equipment functionality.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all operations.
- Conduct pre-start-up checks and post-maintenance inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, spare parts consumption, and report findings.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to plan and execute complex maintenance projects and shutdowns.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Identify opportunities for equipment optimization and efficiency improvements, contributing to cost-saving initiatives.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture within the team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certification in mechanical maintenance or a relevant trade.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with O&G specific equipment and processes.
- Valid driver's license.
