Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on various mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, valves, rotating machinery, and static equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot malfunctions, and carry out effective repairs to restore equipment functionality.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards during all operations.
  • Conduct pre-start-up checks and post-maintenance inspections to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, spare parts consumption, and report findings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to plan and execute complex maintenance projects and shutdowns.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of new mechanical equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment optimization and efficiency improvements, contributing to cost-saving initiatives.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to a strong safety culture within the team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician, preferably in the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification in mechanical maintenance or a relevant trade.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with O&G specific equipment and processes.
  • Valid driver's license.
