Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatients and outpatients, considering medical history, lifestyle, and dietary habits.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans for patients with various medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal failure, gastrointestinal disorders).
- Provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling and education to patients and their families on healthy eating principles, special diets, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Interpret laboratory data and anthropometric measurements to adjust nutrition interventions as needed.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient records according to hospital standards.
- Participate in hospital-wide health promotion and wellness initiatives.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in nutrition science and evidence-based practice.
- Educate staff on nutritional guidelines and best practices when required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Nutritionist, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition care.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for various disease states.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Arabic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when dealing with diverse patient populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian (RD) or Certified Nutritionist (CN) credential.
- Experience with pediatric and geriatric nutrition.
- Fluency in other languages relevant to the patient population in Kuwait (e.g., Hindi, Urdu, Tagalog).
