Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, evaluating dietary intake, lifestyle, medical history, and specific health goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor personalized, evidence-based diet plans and nutrition programs tailored to individual patient needs and health conditions.
- Provide one-on-one and potentially group nutrition counselling, offering practical, actionable advice on healthy eating, food preparation, portion control, and mindful eating.
- Educate patients and their families on the intricate relationship between diet, nutrition, disease prevention, and the effective management of existing health conditions.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate patients' adherence to and progress with their diet plans, making necessary adjustments and providing ongoing support.
- Actively collaborate and communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals to ensure integrated, holistic, and seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient records, meticulously documenting assessments, interventions, outcomes, and follow-up plans.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific research, advancements, and best practices in nutritional science, dietetics, and relevant health trends.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of patient education materials, wellness workshops, and community health initiatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to all professional standards, ethical guidelines, and clinical protocols established by relevant regulatory bodies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, or a closely related field.
- Current registration as a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) with the Association for Nutrition (AfN) or as a Registered Dietitian (RD) with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable post-qualification clinical experience in diet planning and nutritional counselling within a healthcare setting.
- Profound and up-to-date knowledge of nutritional science, human metabolism, and various dietary interventions for a wide range of health conditions.
- Exceptional communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to empathize, motivate, and build strong rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to accurately assess complex dietary needs and formulate effective, personalized solutions.
- Proven proficiency in developing clear, practical, and sustainable personalized meal plans and delivering actionable dietary advice.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently with initiative and effectively as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Clinical Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or a related advanced discipline.
- Specialized experience or certifications in specific areas of nutrition, such as sports nutrition, bariatric support, paediatric nutrition, or chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, IBS).
- Familiarity and practical experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems for efficient patient documentation and management.
- Previous experience in developing and delivering group nutrition education sessions or workshops.
