Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, record observations, and report any significant changes to the medical team.
- Provide wound care, assist with medical procedures, and ensure proper sterilization techniques.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records, ensuring timely documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies, providing critical care when necessary.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and national healthcare regulations.
- Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.
Required Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Mozambique or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and critical thinking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and compassion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in administering medications and performing various medical procedures.
- Fluent in Portuguese; working knowledge of English is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in areas such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience in specialized units such as Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or Operating Theatre (OT).
- Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic health records (EHR).
