Are you a highly motivated, customer-focused individual with a clean driving record looking for a dynamic career opportunity? UPS is seeking dedicated Non-CDL Delivery Drivers to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this vital role, you will be the face of UPS, responsible for delivering and picking up packages safely and efficiently on your assigned route. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a UPS package delivery vehicle safely and efficiently on an assigned route.
- Deliver and pick up packages in a timely and professional manner, adhering to all scheduled stops.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections.
- Interact with customers professionally, addressing inquiries and resolving issues courteously.
- Load and unload packages from the vehicle, requiring physical effort and attention to detail.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety procedures, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs.
- Manage delivery manifest and utilize handheld device for scanning and tracking packages.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license (Class C or equivalent).
- Clean driving record for at least 12 consecutive months (no accidents, suspensions, or major violations).
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or courier role.
- Familiarity with the Chicago metropolitan area.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience operating a large delivery vehicle (e.g., step van, box truck).
