Job Description

NLNG is actively seeking an exceptionally skilled and highly motivated Project Manager to join our esteemed team in Anua, Uyo. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with a demonstrated history of successfully leading complex, multi-million dollar projects from their conceptual stage through to triumphant completion. As a Project Manager at NLNG, you will assume full accountability for project success, ensuring all initiatives align with our strategic objectives, budget constraints, timeline requirements, and stringent quality and safety standards. You will be instrumental in fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration within your project teams, coordinating efforts across diverse disciplines including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of assigned projects, ensuring they meet defined objectives, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, contractors, and materials, to optimize project performance.
  • Implement robust risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential project risks and issues.
  • Ensure strict compliance with NLNG's health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards and policies throughout all project phases.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Monitor project progress, prepare detailed status reports, and present updates to senior management and relevant committees.
  • Manage project financial aspects, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Oversee procurement activities for project materials and services, ensuring adherence to company policies and contractual agreements.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement best practices for future projects.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing complex industrial or infrastructure projects, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2) and practical application.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in managing large project budgets and cost control.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
  • Solid understanding of HSEQ requirements and best practices in project execution.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical), Project Management, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is highly desirable.
  • Master's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in managing projects within the Nigerian context, with an understanding of local regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with LNG plant operations or large-scale gas processing facilities.
  • Experience in contract management and vendor relations for major industrial projects.
