Job Description
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic HR Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team in Igwuruta, Obio-Akpor. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive administrative and operational support across various HR functions, ensuring smooth and efficient departmental operations. The HR Assistant will be instrumental in maintaining employee records, supporting recruitment processes, assisting with onboarding, and helping to manage employee relations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Manage and update employee records and HR databases (both physical and digital) with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new employee files, coordinating orientation sessions, and ensuring a seamless integration experience.
- Prepare HR-related documents, such as employment letters, offer letters, and policy documents.
- Respond to employee queries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in organizing HR events, training sessions, and employee engagement activities.
- Support payroll processing by providing relevant employee data and addressing basic inquiries.
- Generate HR reports and analytics as required, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant labor laws.
- Undertake any other administrative duties as assigned by the HR Manager or HR Business Partner.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 18 months of demonstrable experience in an HR administrative or assistant role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership or progress towards professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM).
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) such as SAP SuccessFactors or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
- Understanding of Nigerian labor laws and regulations.
