This pivotal role demands a proactive individual with a deep understanding of network protocols, security best practices, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for both day-to-day operational support and strategic project involvement, contributing significantly to the evolution of our network architecture. On the connectivity front, you will manage complex routing and switching environments, optimize network performance, and ensure high availability across our core, distribution, and access layers. This includes working with various vendor equipment, particularly Cisco and Juniper, and mastering protocols like BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
From a security perspective, you will be the guardian of our digital assets. This involves configuring and managing next-generation firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet), implementing intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), managing VPN solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry security standards. You will actively participate in incident response, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing efforts, continuously strengthening our security posture against evolving threats. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including operations, development, and business units, will be key to understanding requirements and delivering integrated solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Data Center) focusing on high availability and performance.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), switching protocols (VLANs, STP, EtherChannel), and MPLS networks.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor network security solutions including firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, VPNs (IPSec, SSL VPN), and NAC.
- Perform network capacity planning, performance tuning, and fault isolation to ensure optimal network operation.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement necessary remediation actions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., system engineers, security operations, application developers) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies, security threats, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Cisco and Juniper routing and switching platforms.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other core network protocols.
- Expertise in firewall management and configuration (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
- Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN).
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix).
- Solid understanding of network security principles, best practices, and compliance standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, JNCIP-SP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE 4+.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with scripting/automation (Python, Ansible) for network operations.
- Knowledge of wireless networking standards and security.
