Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the registration and administration of musical works with various collection societies (e.g., SOCAN, CMRRA, ASCAP/BMI for international repertoire).
  • Maintain and update the company's music catalogue database, ensuring accuracy of metadata, splits, and copyright information.
  • Process licensing requests for synchronization, mechanical, and public performance, preparing agreements and invoices as needed.
  • Support the royalty team by assisting with data entry, statement reconciliation, and addressing artist inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with songwriters, artists, and external partners regarding their publishing assets and requests.
  • Conduct research on copyright ownership and track usage of musical works.
  • Prepare various reports and presentations for management and clients.
  • Handle general administrative tasks, including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and office organization.
  • Assist with special projects related to catalogue acquisition, digital rights management, and market analysis.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English (bilingualism is essential for this role in Quebec).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated passion for music and a basic understanding of the music industry.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
