In this dynamic role, you will be the driving force behind our artists’ public presence and media outreach. You’ll craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, build enduring relationships with key media contacts across print, online, radio, and broadcast platforms, and execute innovative promotional campaigns that cut through the noise of a crowded industry. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive promotional strategies for artist releases across various media platforms.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, including journalists, bloggers, radio programmers, and influencers.
  • Pitch artists and their music for reviews, interviews, features, and airplay.
  • Manage and optimize social media campaigns, content calendars, and community engagement for artists.
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships and collaborations to expand artist reach.
  • Monitor media coverage, track campaign performance, and provide detailed analytical reports.
  • Coordinate with artists, management, and internal teams to ensure cohesive messaging and timely delivery of promotional assets.
  • Represent Barnwood Records at industry events, networking opportunities, and live shows.
  • Stay abreast of music industry trends, new promotional tools, and emerging platforms.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in music promotion, PR, or marketing within the entertainment industry (minimum 2 years).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to craft compelling pitches and press releases.
  • Demonstrable understanding of digital marketing tools and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Spotify for Artists).
  • Strong existing network of media contacts within the music industry is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools to track and report on campaign performance.
  • Passion for independent music and a deep understanding of current music trends and artist development.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Music Business, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working directly with a record label or music management company.
  • Knowledge of the local Gloucester and wider UK music scene.
  • Experience with CRM software and media monitoring tools.
