Job Description
Are you a maestro of sound, with a keen ear for rhythm, harmony, and storytelling through music? J&M Media, a dynamic and growing media production company based in the heart of Downtown Russellville, is seeking a talented and passionate Music Editor to join our audio post-production team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the sonic landscape of diverse projects, ranging from compelling commercials and corporate videos to engaging digital content and potentially local broadcast productions.
As our Music Editor, you will be the creative force responsible for meticulously selecting, editing, and integrating musical elements that elevate the emotional impact and narrative coherence of our productions. You will work closely with directors, producers, and sound designers, transforming raw footage and concepts into polished, professional audio experiences. Your expertise will be crucial in curating musical scores, ensuring seamless transitions, precise synchronization with visuals, and adherence to project-specific themes and branding guidelines. This involves not just cutting and pasting, but truly understanding the emotional arc of a piece and how music can amplify or subtly guide the audience’s perception. You’ll be expected to identify and source appropriate music from our existing libraries or external sources, ensuring all licensing and copyright requirements are met. Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating temp tracks, implementing client feedback, and delivering final mixes that are perfectly balanced and optimized for various distribution platforms.
This role demands a blend of artistic sensibility and technical proficiency. We are looking for someone who not only understands the emotional power of music but also possesses advanced skills in digital audio workstations (DAWs) and a deep knowledge of music theory and post-production workflows. You will be instrumental in maintaining the highest audio quality standards, managing music libraries, and adapting to various project scopes and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be adept at working under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently delivering high-quality work within tight schedules. A strong understanding of various audio formats, codecs, and delivery specifications is also highly valued.
J&M Media prides itself on fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. We believe that exceptional content is born from a team that values creativity, precision, and open communication. We offer a supportive atmosphere where your creative input is valued, and you have the opportunity to grow your skills and contribute significantly to our projects. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a passion for sound, a strong portfolio showcasing your music editing prowess, and a desire to contribute to a forward-thinking media company, we encourage you to apply. Join us and help us tell our stories, one perfectly placed note at a time, crafting unforgettable auditory experiences for our clients and their audiences.
