Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and closing of complex telecommunication projects, ensuring adherence to MTN's project management frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies.
  • Manage project teams, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and engagement.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and successes regularly to all stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered within the agreed scope, budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring deliverables meet specifications and service level agreements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure seamless integration of project activities across various departments.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and analyses to identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management, preferably within the telecommunications or IT industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, large-scale projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, capable of presenting to senior management.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience with 4G/5G network deployment, fiber optics, or digital service platform projects.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements within the Nigerian telecommunications sector.
