Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on motorbikes and small engines.
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Execute complex repairs including engine rebuilds, transmission work, and fuel system overhauls.
- Test vehicles post-repair to ensure full functionality and safety.
- Order and manage parts inventory for repairs, ensuring timely completion of jobs.
- Provide clear explanations of repairs needed and completed work to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with new vehicle technologies and repair methods through training.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Motorbike or Small Engine Mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for petrol engines.
- Proficiency with a range of hand and power tools specific to motorbike repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid UK driving license, preferably with a motorcycle endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Motorcycle specific preferred).
- Experience with various motorbike brands and models.
- Familiarity with modern electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Certification in specific small engine technologies (e.g., carburettor tuning, fuel injection systems).
