Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial fact-finds with clients to understand their needs, circumstances, and objectives.
  • Provide expert, impartial, and compliant mortgage advice, recommending suitable products from HSBC's extensive portfolio.
  • Guide clients through the entire mortgage application process, from initial consultation to completion, ensuring all necessary documentation is gathered.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, lending criteria, and regulatory changes (e.g., FCA, MMR).
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting client relationships through exceptional service and proactive communication.
  • Achieve personal and team sales targets while adhering to HSBC's risk and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters and sales support, to ensure efficient processing of applications.
  • Identify and refer opportunities for other HSBC financial products and services where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development and training programmes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Advisor or in a similar regulated financial advice role (minimum 3 years).
  • Full CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent understanding of the UK mortgage market, including regulatory frameworks (FCA, MMR).
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills with a client-centric approach.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse range of clients.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and CRM systems.
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a major high-street bank or building society.
  • Knowledge of other regulated financial products, such as protection or general insurance.
  • Additional financial planning qualifications (e.g., DipFA, CeRER).
  • A strong network within the local Liverpool community.
  • Experience working with both residential and buy-to-let mortgages.
