Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation of all transactions.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for internal and external reporting.
- Assist diligently in the month-end and year-end close processes, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Ensure continuous compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation, clear explanations, and analytical insights.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, verifying accuracy and completeness of all invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, contributing to financial planning processes.
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and control of financial operations.
- Collaborate effectively with various departments to gather financial data and provide insightful financial analysis and support.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and comprehensive financial records and documentation in accordance with company policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 2-4 years of progressive experience in an accounting role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in financial software and robust command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with all levels of staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA licensure (e.g., passed sections of the exam).
- Experience with large-scale Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials).
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Prior experience working in a global financial institution or a large corporate environment.
