Job Description

Are you a recent graduate or a passionate individual eager to kickstart your career in humanitarian and development work? World Vision Zimbabwe is offering an exciting entry-level opportunity for a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer. This role is specifically designed for candidates with no prior professional experience in M&E, providing comprehensive training and mentorship to develop foundational skills in a vital area of our operations.

As an M&E Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness, accountability, and impact of our programs across Zimbabwe. You will be instrumental in supporting the collection, analysis, and reporting of data, helping us understand whether our interventions are reaching their intended beneficiaries and achieving desired outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of M&E plans for various programs and projects.
  • Assist in the collection of program data through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and other methodologies.
  • Perform data entry, cleaning, and preliminary analysis using relevant software (e.g., Excel, basic statistical tools).
  • Contribute to the drafting of routine M&E reports, including progress reports, outcome reports, and impact assessments.
  • Participate in field visits to project sites to monitor program activities and verify data, under supervision.
  • Maintain and update project M&E databases and information systems.
  • Support the M&E team in developing and refining data collection tools and methodologies.
  • Assist in the capacity building of program staff on M&E concepts and tools.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, and timeliness in all M&E activities.
  • Perform other M&E-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Demography, Economics, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic research methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Understanding of the humanitarian and development context in Zimbabwe.
  • Basic knowledge of data visualization principles.
