Save the Children International – Ethiopia is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to join our Country Office team in Addis Ababa. As our M&E Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, effectiveness, and impact of our various child-focused programs across Ethiopia. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive M&E systems for various programs, ensuring alignment with Save the Children’s global standards and donor requirements.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of program data to assess progress, identify challenges, and inform programmatic adjustments.
  • Develop and refine program indicators, M&E plans, tools, and methodologies in collaboration with program teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and capacity building to program staff and partners on M&E concepts, data management, and reporting.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality data reporting to internal stakeholders, donors, and government partners.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to verify data quality, assess program implementation, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Facilitate program reviews, evaluations, and learning events to capture best practices and lessons learned.
  • Contribute to proposal development by designing robust M&E frameworks and providing inputs on indicators and logical frameworks.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of M&E officers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Stay abreast of global M&E trends and innovations, integrating new approaches into our M&E practices.
  • Actively participate in the provided leadership and technical training programs to enhance personal and team capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in designing and implementing M&E systems for international NGOs or development agencies.
  • Proven experience in data collection, analysis, and management using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of results-based management, logical frameworks, and performance monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with M&E for child-focused programs (e.g., health, nutrition, education, child protection).
  • Familiarity with digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboCollect, ODK).
  • Experience in leading or managing M&E teams.
  • Experience in Ethiopia or similar humanitarian/development contexts.
