Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive user research, including usability testing, interviews, and surveys, to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivations.
  • Translate research findings, business requirements, and technical constraints into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Design intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that align with Microsoft’s design language and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and other design teams to ensure a cohesive and high-quality user experience across all touchpoints.
  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, usability testing results, and analytical data.
  • Develop and maintain design system components, ensuring consistency and scalability across multiple products.
  • Present design concepts, rationale, and user research findings to stakeholders and team members, effectively communicating design choices.
  • Champion accessibility standards and inclusive design practices throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UX/UI design.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional UX/UI design skills across various platforms (web, mobile, desktop).
  • Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
  • Experience with conducting user research, including usability testing and ethnographic studies.
  • Excellent visual design skills with a keen eye for typography, color, layout, and iconography.
  • Ability to articulate design decisions and rationalize choices based on user data, research, and design principles.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to better understand technical constraints.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft’s design system (Fluent Design System) or other large-scale enterprise design systems.
  • Prior experience designing for complex software applications or enterprise-level platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
