LAPO Microfinance Bank Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and proactive Microfinance Officer to join our vibrant team in Rumuogba, Port Harcourt. As a Field Loan Agent and Savings Mobilization Officer, you will be the face of LAPO in the community, building strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs, and guiding them through our array of products and services. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive field work to identify, market, and onboard new clients for loan and savings products within the assigned Rumuogba territory.
- Educate potential and existing clients on LAPO's various microfinance products, services, and repayment terms.
- Process loan applications, ensuring all required documentation is accurately collected and verified.
- Conduct thorough credit assessments and due diligence for loan applicants.
- Manage and monitor assigned loan portfolios, ensuring timely repayment and low delinquency rates.
- Actively mobilize savings deposits from individual and group clients, meeting set targets.
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with clients through regular follow-ups and excellent customer service.
- Provide financial advisory services to clients, promoting financial literacy and responsible borrowing.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on field activities, client interactions, and portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with branch management to achieve overall business objectives and targets.
Required Skills
- Proven ability in sales and marketing, preferably in a financial services or field-based role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse client groups.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills for credit assessment and financial calculations.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, field-based environment.
- High level of integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Fluency in English and a local language prevalent in Port Harcourt (e.g., Ikwerre, pidgin English).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Prior experience (1-2 years) as a Microfinance Officer, Loan Officer, or Field Sales Executive.
- Knowledge of microfinance principles and practices.
- Familiarity with the Rumuogba community and its business landscape.
