Key Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and edit high-quality scientific and medical communications, including clinical study reports, protocols, investigator brochures, regulatory submissions, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide presentations.
- Ensure all written materials adhere to relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, FDA, EMA), industry standards, and company policies, maintaining rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., clinical, regulatory, statistics, commercial) and external experts (e.g., investigators, authors) to gather necessary input and achieve consensus on content.
- Critically review and interpret complex scientific and clinical data, translating findings into clear, objective, and accurate medical communications for various target audiences.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining consistently high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Participate in publication planning meetings and contribute to strategic communication plans for assigned therapeutic areas, aligning with overall product strategy.
- Facilitate the internal and external review processes for all documents, incorporating feedback appropriately and efficiently while maintaining document integrity.
- Maintain expertise in relevant therapeutic areas, scientific literature, and medical writing best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
- Ensure all materials are prepared in accordance with ethical guidelines for scientific communication and data dissemination, upholding GSK's commitment to transparency and integrity.
Required Skills
- Ph.D., Pharm.D., or Master’s degree in a scientific, medical, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in medical writing within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or contract research organization (CRO) industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in writing and editing various medical and scientific documents, with a strong portfolio of work.
- Thorough understanding of clinical research, drug development processes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH GCP, FDA, EMA guidelines).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail, grammar, and scientific accuracy.
- Ability to interpret, synthesize, and critically evaluate complex scientific data, and present it clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with reference management software (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a cross-functional, global team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Writer (e.g., AMWA, EMWA).
- Experience in specific therapeutic areas relevant to GSK's portfolio (e.g., Oncology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Vaccines, Respiratory).
- Experience with electronic document management systems and submission publishing tools.
- Familiarity with plain language summary development and patient-centric communication strategies.
- Record of peer-reviewed publications or presentations at scientific conferences.
