Job Description
Hopeville Specialist Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and skilled Medical Doctor to join our dynamic team in Okrika, Port Harcourt. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations, accurately diagnose medical conditions, and formulate effective treatment plans for patients of all ages.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory analyses and imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Prescribe medications, administer treatments, and perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate to patient needs.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses, providing ongoing care, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting treatment as necessary.
- Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families on preventive care, disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement initiatives, continuous professional development, and clinical audits.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care when required.
- Adhere strictly to medical ethics, professional standards, and all relevant regulatory guidelines governing medical practice in Nigeria.
Required Skills
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
- Current and valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of 3 years post-NYSC/Housemanship clinical experience in general practice or a similar clinical setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and adherence to ethical medical practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications or diplomas in specific medical specialties (e.g., Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine).
- Experience working in a private hospital setting in Nigeria.
