Job Description

CMDC – Centro Médico e de Diagnóstico de Maputo is excited to announce an opening for an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Medical Doctor to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop comprehensive treatment plans under supervision.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies.
  • Provide patient education on health maintenance and disease prevention.
  • Administer basic medical treatments and procedures.
  • Participate in daily ward rounds and clinical meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and assist in critical care situations as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all medical ethics, professional conduct guidelines, and institutional policies.

Required Skills

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Full registration or eligibility for registration with the Ordem dos Médicos de Moçambique (Mozambican Medical Association).
  • Strong foundational knowledge in general medicine.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of empathy and professionalism.
  • Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Portuguese (verbal and written) is highly advantageous.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Previous volunteer work or clinical electives in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated interest in continuous medical education and professional development.
