Key Responsibilities

  • Execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment, including conveyors, crushers, mills, kilns, pumps, and fans.
  • Diagnose complex mechanical failures and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime and optimize plant availability.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules to ensure maximum equipment reliability and performance.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of capital projects, equipment upgrades, and installations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor equipment performance, analyze maintenance data, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production and other engineering departments to optimize operational processes and troubleshoot interdisciplinary issues.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement for mechanical components, ensuring availability while optimizing costs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance technicians.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, maintenance logs, and documentation for all activities.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment (e.g., cement, heavy machinery, mining, oil & gas).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, rotating equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification (e.g., COREN, NSE, PMP).
  • Experience with condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in the cement or building materials industry.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software.
