Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, ensuring a genuine and friendly first impression.
- Efficiently manage reservations and walk-in guest flow, optimizing seating arrangements and minimizing wait times.
- Escort guests to their tables, providing menus and making sure they are comfortably seated.
- Answer incoming calls with professionalism, assisting with inquiries and accurately taking new reservations.
- Collaborate closely with the serving and kitchen staff to optimize table turns and ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand and dining area, reflecting Marriott's high standards of presentation.
- Proactively address guest comments, concerns, or special requests with grace and efficiency, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to connect with people.
- A warm, friendly, and professional demeanor, consistently presenting a welcoming image.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and perform light lifting if required.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a Host/Hostess or customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with reservation software systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and dining room operations.
