Job Description
Royalton White Sands Resort is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Market Vendor to join our vibrant team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for operating and managing a designated sales stall within our resort premises, showcasing and selling a variety of high-quality local products, souvenirs, or resort merchandise to our international guests. This is a unique opportunity to act as an ambassador for both the resort and Jamaican culture, engaging directly with guests, sharing product knowledge, and ensuring a memorable shopping experience.
Your primary goal will be to drive sales through active engagement, outstanding product presentation, and impeccable customer service. You will be expected to maintain an attractive and inviting stall display, manage inventory, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, and adhere to all resort standards for cleanliness and guest interaction. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills, a passion for sales, and a genuine interest in connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. Key Responsibilities
- Actively engage with resort guests, promoting and selling products from the designated stall.
- Provide detailed product information, highlighting unique features and benefits to enhance the guest's purchasing decision.
- Maintain an attractive, clean, and well-organized product display at all times, ensuring merchandise is properly stocked and visually appealing.
- Process cash, credit card, and other forms of payment accurately and efficiently using resort POS systems.
- Handle guest inquiries, provide exceptional customer service, and resolve any concerns promptly and courteously.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock replenishment, and report any discrepancies to management.
- Adhere strictly to all resort policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling the stall, including product display and security measures.
- Contribute to a positive and energetic atmosphere, enhancing the overall resort experience for guests.
- Learn and adapt to new product offerings and sales techniques as introduced.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and engaging demeanor.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 20 lbs).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a sales, retail, or customer service role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with local Jamaican crafts, products, and culture.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, German, French) is a significant asset.
