Key Responsibilities
- Identify, assess, and monitor various types of risks, including market, credit, operational, and liquidity risks, across different business lines and portfolios.
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced risk models, methodologies, and frameworks to accurately quantify and effectively manage risk exposures.
- Prepare comprehensive and insightful risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, internal stakeholders, and external regulatory bodies.
- Analyze complex financial data and market trends to provide critical insights into potential risk areas and recommend appropriate, proactive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal risk policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, Solvency II, NAIC, local financial regulations).
- Collaborate effectively with internal audit, compliance, legal, and other business units to facilitate thorough risk assessments and comprehensive reviews.
- Support the development and enhancement of robust stress testing and scenario analysis programs to evaluate portfolio resilience under adverse conditions.
- Participate actively in ad-hoc risk-related projects and strategic initiatives as required, contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the risk function.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging risks, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to proactively adapt and strengthen risk management strategies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a risk analysis or related quantitative role, preferably within financial services.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VBA, advanced functions, pivot tables, complex data analysis).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex quantitative concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial products, capital markets, and core risk management principles (e.g., VaR, stress testing).
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM – Financial Risk Manager, CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst, PRM – Professional Risk Manager).
- Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software solutions and enterprise risk management systems.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for advanced data analysis, statistical modeling, and automation.
- Previous experience in the insurance or wealth management industry, specifically in a dedicated risk management capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to the financial sector and experience with regulatory reporting.
