Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs within the apartment complex, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections of common areas, building systems, and individual units to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from residents and management, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical problems such as faulty switches, outlets, and light fixtures.
  • Address plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, and fixture replacements.
  • Carry out carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, cabinets, and other wooden structures.
  • Perform painting and touch-up work as needed to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the property.
  • Assist with groundskeeping and exterior maintenance tasks, including trash removal, pressure washing, and ensuring clean pathways.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and time spent.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with residents and team members.
  • Be available for emergency on-call duties as scheduled.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, repair, or a related trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
  • Solid understanding of basic plumbing systems and ability to perform common repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and ability to troubleshoot minor electrical issues safely.
  • Proficiency in basic carpentry techniques and repairs.
  • Ability to perform painting and drywall repairs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Vocational training or relevant certifications in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or general maintenance.
  • Previous experience working in an apartment complex or residential property maintenance role.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations.
