Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Full-Time Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in Kukwuaba, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the comprehensive maintenance and repair of building systems and facilities, ensuring their optimal operation and longevity. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance schedules, responding promptly to service requests, and performing corrective actions across a wide range of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and civil systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building fabric.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and carry out timely repairs.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and address critical issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential problems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and expenditures.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff or facility users as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for facility operations and energy efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance or facility management.
  • Proven expertise in electrical systems (e.g., wiring, circuits, panels, generators).
  • Proficiency in plumbing systems (e.g., pipes, fittings, water heaters, pumps).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with HVAC systems (e.g., AC units, ventilation).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
  • Valid driver's license (optional, but a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant trade certification or vocational training in electrical, mechanical, or plumbing trades.
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
