Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily comprehensive cleaning tasks throughout the restaurant, including dining areas, restrooms, kitchen, service areas, and exterior premises.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on various restaurant equipment (e.g., fryers, grills, beverage machines), HVAC systems, and other critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Promptly identify, document, and report any major maintenance issues, potential safety hazards, or necessary complex repairs to management.
- Execute minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing light bulbs, patching walls, addressing basic plumbing blockages, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues.
- Maintain all outside areas, including litter patrol, landscaping upkeep, pressure washing sidewalks, and general tidiness around the building.
- Ensure all waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed efficiently, hygienically, and in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, maintenance materials, and tools, initiating procurement orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as company-specific policies and procedures.
- Operate cleaning and light maintenance equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of tools.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, and organizing deliveries, ensuring proper storage and rotation of supplies.
- Contribute to a positive and safe working environment for all team members and customers.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in general maintenance or janitorial services, preferably in a commercial or restaurant setting.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; ability to perform minor repairs.
- Ability to perform light to moderate physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Effective time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with safety data sheets (SDS) and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a fast-food or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations pertinent to food service establishments.
