Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Maintenance & Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team in Williamsfield, Mandeville. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and longevity of JPS’s essential equipment and systems. Your expertise will directly contribute to the reliability of our operations, guaranteeing consistent service delivery to our valued customers. This position involves a comprehensive range of maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on a variety of mechanical, electrical, and industrial control systems. You will work with diverse equipment, from generators and transformers to specialized tools and machinery, playing a vital role in minimizing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment as per schedules and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational protocols.
- Execute predictive maintenance techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis, to anticipate potential failures.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and equipment performance data.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, procedures, and environmental policies.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems when required.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in industrial settings.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, specific equipment certifications).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of power generation and distribution equipment.
