Job Description
Are you an experienced and proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong aptitude for electrical repairs? Mixta Africa is actively seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant specializing in electrical repairs to join our dedicated property management team in Sangotedo, Lekki. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of residents within our upscale residential blocks. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting routine inspections, diagnosing complex electrical issues, and executing timely and effective repairs on various electrical systems and components. This encompasses everything from lighting fixtures and outlets to distribution boards, wiring, and common area electrical appliances. You will be expected to respond swiftly to maintenance requests, troubleshoot faults, and implement solutions that adhere strictly to safety regulations and local building codes.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems within residential blocks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in wiring, circuit breakers, lighting, and appliances.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty electrical components and installations efficiently and safely.
- Assist senior technicians with complex electrical projects, upgrades, and new installations.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with Nigerian electrical standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical service requests from residents and property management.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance tasks performed, parts used, and service reports.
- Provide basic electrical usage guidance and safety tips to residents when necessary.
- Monitor and manage inventory of essential electrical spare parts and tools, reporting needs to supervisors.
- Collaborate effectively with other maintenance and property management staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct safety checks and implement measures to prevent future electrical issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in electrical fault finding and repair, preferably in a residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and distribution networks.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, continuity testers, voltage detectors).
- Thorough understanding of electrical safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade Test Certificate (e.g., in Electrical Installation) or a relevant vocational qualification.
- OND/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Prior experience working in property management, hospitality, or facilities management.
- Familiarity with generators and basic generator maintenance.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
