Job Description

Lowe’s Companies is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Warehouse Loader to join our new team in Kingston upon Hull, England. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be the backbone of our logistics, ensuring that products are moved safely, accurately, and promptly through our distribution center. Your primary responsibility will involve the meticulous loading and unloading of merchandise, utilising various material handling equipment while strictly adhering to all safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload incoming and outgoing merchandise from trucks and containers.
- Operate various material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, in a safe manner (training provided).
- Verify product quantities against manifests and report any discrepancies or damages immediately.
- Organize and stack products according to warehouse procedures, maintaining clear aisles and pathways.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse area, including sweeping and waste disposal.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items repeatedly throughout a shift (up to 50 lbs)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling products
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and count inventory
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
- Commitment to workplace safety and following instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physical role
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck) – certification a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of basic warehouse safety protocols
