Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, and issue receipts, refunds, or change.
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service, answering questions and assisting with purchases.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring merchandise is properly scanned and bagged.
- Assist customers with self-checkout terminals and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Promote loyalty programs, special offers, and store services to customers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and a positive shopping environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to loss prevention and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by store management to support overall store goals and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs (occasionally).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer-facing retail role.
