Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Officer to join our vibrant team in Igwuruta, Obio-Akpor. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations, including incoming and outgoing shipments, warehousing, and distribution.
- Plan and track the efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods according to customer requirements and company policies.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, storage, and order fulfillment to minimize waste and optimize space.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation, such as invoices, purchase orders, and shipping manifests.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Identify and resolve logistics issues, discrepancies, and operational challenges promptly and effectively.
- Implement and maintain logistics policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Utilize logistics software and tools to track shipments, manage inventory, and generate performance reports.
- Participate in the negotiation of freight rates and services with logistics providers to achieve cost savings and efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics processes to ensure optimal performance and identify areas for improvement.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a logistics, supply chain, or distribution role.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS, CSCP).
