GIG Logistics is seeking a proactive and skilled Logistics Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Banana Island, Ikoyi. In this crucial day schedule role, you will be at the heart of our delivery operations, responsible for orchestrating the timely and efficient movement of goods from our hub to our esteemed customers across Ikoyi and surrounding areas. This isn’t just about sending drivers out; it’s about strategic planning, real-time problem-solving, and ensuring every parcel reaches its destination with precision and customer satisfaction.
As a Logistics Dispatcher, you will be the central point of contact between our customers, drivers, and operations team. Your expertise will directly impact our service delivery quality and our reputation for reliability. You will be tasked with creating optimal delivery routes, managing driver schedules, monitoring delivery progress, and swiftly addressing any issues that may arise during the day. We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong geographical knowledge of Lagos, particularly the Ikoyi axis. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for drivers to ensure efficiency and timely deliveries.
- Dispatch drivers and assign delivery tasks based on location, urgency, and resource availability.
- Monitor real-time progress of deliveries using tracking systems and communicate updates to customers and relevant departments.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing support and instructions as needed.
- Address and resolve delivery-related issues, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer complaints, promptly and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of all dispatches, deliveries, and driver activities.
- Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Generate daily reports on delivery performance and operational metrics.
- Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and implement preventative measures.
