Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the scheduling and dispatching of transportation routes and drivers.
- Process and manage transportation documentation, including bills of lading, manifests, and customs forms.
- Monitor shipment status, track deliveries, and provide real-time updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers to resolve operational issues and ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management review.
- Utilize transport management systems (TMS) and other software tools for data entry and analysis.
- Respond to inquiries from drivers, customers, and internal departments regarding transport operations.
- Assist with fleet maintenance scheduling and compliance checks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a logistics, transportation, or administrative support role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Basic understanding of transportation regulations and safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or other logistics software
- Familiarity with local geographical area and transportation routes in South Florida
