Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Local Delivery Truck Driver with a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to join our San Antonio team. As a vital member of our logistics operation, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering a variety of beverage products to our valued customers, including grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, and other licensed establishments within the greater San Antonio area. This role requires excellent driving skills, a commitment to customer service, and the ability to handle physical demands associated with loading and unloading products. You will be the face of Silver Eagle Beverages on the road, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining positive relationships with our clients. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class B commercial truck safely and efficiently on assigned local routes within San Antonio and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload beverage products from the truck using hand trucks, dollies, or other material handling equipment, ensuring product integrity.
- Verify product quantities against invoices, collect payments as required, and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing any immediate concerns and maintaining professional rapport.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and mileage documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers.
- Manage delivery schedules to ensure timely completion of routes.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed, particularly during off-peak delivery times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs regularly, occasionally more) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of local San Antonio roads and traffic patterns.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, especially in the beverage or food distribution industry.
- Experience operating hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and route optimization software.
- Customer service experience in a delivery setting.
