Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and motivate a team of associates to achieve departmental goals and foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee daily department operations, including merchandising, stock rotation, customer service, and adherence to visual standards.
- Ensure high standards of product presentation, cleanliness, and organization are consistently maintained throughout the department.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, process deliveries, and implement strategies to minimize shrink and waste.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly and professionally, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Implement and enforce all company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations, food safety, and loss prevention.
- Analyze sales data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement, drive sales initiatives, and optimize product placement.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
- Assist in scheduling, timecard approvals, payroll processing, and other administrative tasks as required.
- Collaborate with other departments and management to ensure seamless store operations and a cohesive team approach.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a retail supervisory or leadership role, preferably in a grocery or large-format store.
- Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve performance targets.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage inventory, control costs, and understand retail metrics.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, POS systems).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to thrive and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field is a strong asset.
- Familiarity with retail management software and inventory control systems.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with merchandising and planogram execution.
