Job Description

Are you a highly motivated and result-driven individual with a passion for sales and community development? LAPO Microfinance Bank is seeking a dynamic Loan Marketer to join our vibrant team in Calabar. This pivotal role involves actively identifying, acquiring, and nurturing relationships with potential clients who can benefit from our tailored microfinance services. You will be at the forefront of our mission, engaging directly with small business owners, traders, and entrepreneurs in local markets and communities on Moore Road and its environs. Your primary goal will be to promote our range of micro-loan products, explain their benefits, and guide clients through the application process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and recruit new clients for LAPO Microfinance Bank's loan products within designated market segments.
  • Conduct daily field marketing activities, engaging with potential clients in markets, businesses, and communities.
  • Explain loan products, terms, and conditions clearly and comprehensively to prospective clients.
  • Assist clients in completing loan application forms and gather necessary documentation.
  • Conduct preliminary credit assessments and due diligence on loan applicants.
  • Monitor loan repayment performance and follow up with clients as needed to ensure timely repayments.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and excellent customer service.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly loan disbursement and repayment targets.
  • Provide sales support, including client education on financial literacy and product usage.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly activity reports to the Team Lead.

Required Skills

  • Proven sales and marketing experience, preferably in financial services or FMCG.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Goal-oriented with a strong drive to achieve targets.
  • Good understanding of local markets and business environments in Calabar.
  • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
  • Previous experience in a microfinance institution or community development role.
  • Familiarity with the Calabar market and local languages/dialects.
  • Valid driver's license (motorcycle) is an added advantage.
