Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, compassionate, and engaging care for two children (ages 3 and 6) on a full-time, live-in basis.
- Organize and supervise daily activities, including educational play, outdoor excursions, creative arts, and reading.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for the children, including tidying play areas and children's rooms.
- Assist with children’s hygiene, dressing, and bedtime routines.
- Manage children's schedules, including school drop-offs and pick-ups (if applicable and agreed upon), appointments, and extracurricular activities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children’s progress, needs, and daily activities.
- Administer basic first aid and medication as required, adhering strictly to parental instructions.
- Foster the children's social, emotional, and cognitive development through positive interaction and guidance.
- Handle children's laundry and ensure their belongings are clean and organized.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience as a nanny or in a similar childcare role.
- Demonstrated ability to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children.
- Basic cooking skills for children’s meals.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain quickly).
- High level of responsibility and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and household routines diligently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience with multiple children in a family setting.
- Knowledge of developmental milestones for preschoolers and early school-aged children.
- Driving license with a clean record (though not strictly required for daily duties, could be a plus for excursions).
- Ability to speak an additional local language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo) is a bonus.
