Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all menu items accurately and efficiently, adhering to Mexico's recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare ingredients, including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning, following food safety guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain a clean, organised, and stocked work station throughout service.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring every dish meets visual and taste expectations.
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation, receiving, and proper storage of food items.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Manage food waste and contribute to sustainable kitchen practices.
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and high-energy work environment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of proven experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Proficiency in various cooking methods, kitchen equipment operation, and basic culinary techniques.
  • Strong knife skills and an understanding of foundational culinary principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and calmly under pressure during busy periods.
  • Excellent understanding and practical application of food safety and sanitation practices (e.g., HACCP principles).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Mexican or Latin American cuisine.
  • Formal culinary training or a relevant qualification from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in a high-volume restaurant or similar hospitality establishment.
  • Ability to speak basic Spanish (beneficial but not strictly required).
