Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis across various practice areas to support ongoing cases and advisory work.
  • Assist senior counsels in drafting legal opinions, memoranda, pleadings, and other critical legal documents.
  • Actively participate in client meetings, conferences, and contribute meaningfully to strategic legal discussions.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, contracts, and intricate corporate documents under supervision.
  • Support litigation and dispute resolution processes, including meticulous document preparation, court filings, and case management.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in Mauritius and internationally, advising on their potential impact on clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality legal service delivery.
  • Engage diligently in continuous professional development activities and attend internal training sessions.
  • Manage and organize legal files, correspondence, and documentation effectively and securely.
  • Develop a strong foundational understanding of Mauritian law, common law principles, and relevant international legal frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Strong academic record demonstrating intellectual rigor and commitment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
