Job Description
The University of the West Indies Open Campus, St. Ann’s Bay Site, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Lecturer in various disciplines (e.g., Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, Information Technology – specific discipline depending on the candidate’s expertise and campus needs). Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality course content and instructional materials in your area of expertise, adhering to UWI Open Campus curriculum standards.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, seminars, tutorials, and online learning platforms, to engage and inspire students.
- Assess student learning through assignments, examinations, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Provide academic advice, mentorship, and support to students, guiding them through their academic journey and career planning.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and accreditation processes to ensure relevance and quality of programmes.
- Contribute to scholarly activity, including research, publications, and presentations, to advance knowledge in your field.
- Actively participate in departmental, campus, and university-wide meetings, committees, and professional development initiatives.
- Engage with the local community through outreach activities, workshops, and partnerships.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in your subject area and in contemporary teaching methodologies.
Required Skills
