Job Description
Nile University of Nigeria is seeking highly motivated, experienced, and research-oriented Lecturers to join our dynamic faculty in Kuje, Abuja. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students across various programs.
- Design, prepare, and update comprehensive course materials, syllabi, and teaching aids in accordance with university standards and curriculum requirements.
- Assess student performance thoroughly through various methods, including assignments, examinations, presentations, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations, guiding them through the research process.
- Conduct original and impactful research, leading to regular publications in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences.
- Actively seek and secure research grants and external funding to support ongoing and new research initiatives, enhancing the university’s research profile.
- Participate in curriculum development, review, and accreditation processes to ensure programs remain current and relevant.
- Contribute actively to the academic and administrative life of the department and university through participation in committees, meetings, and academic events.
- Mentor and advise students on academic pathways, career development, and personal growth, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of advancements in your specialized field and pedagogical best practices.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department, Dean, or other relevant university authorities.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant academic discipline from a recognized university.
- Proven experience in university-level teaching and curriculum development.
- Strong record of scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals or reputable academic outlets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in research methodologies and data analysis techniques relevant to your field.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a diverse academic environment.
- Competency in using learning management systems and other educational technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral research experience.
