Job Description
Monty Suites & Golf is seeking a dedicated and experienced Laundry Staff member with a strong focus on dry cleaning and washing to join our esteemed team. This is a critical role that ensures our guests’ garments, as well as hotel linens and uniforms, are impeccably cleaned, pressed, and maintained to the highest standards of quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of various fabric types, cleaning agents, and dry cleaning processes. You will be responsible for operating industrial laundry equipment, meticulously sorting, washing, drying, folding, pressing, and performing minor mending tasks. Attention to detail, a commitment to cleanliness, and efficiency are paramount. You will work within a supportive team environment, contributing directly to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests and the overall smooth operation of our hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain commercial washing, drying, and dry-cleaning machines according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions, ensuring optimal performance.
- Sort laundry items (including guest garments, hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms) by color, fabric type, and degree of soilage before washing or dry cleaning.
- Inspect items thoroughly for stains, damage, and special care instructions, applying appropriate pre-treatment methods and stain removal techniques.
- Execute dry cleaning processes for delicate and specialized garments, ensuring proper chemical handling, solvent management, and machine operation.
- Fold, press, iron, and hang laundered items neatly and efficiently, ensuring they meet the hotel's presentation standards, preparing them for return to guests or distribution within the hotel.
- Perform minor mending and alterations as needed, such as sewing buttons, repairing small tears, or re-stitching hems to maintain garment integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area at all times, adhering strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and standards.
- Monitor inventory of laundry supplies (detergents, softeners, dry cleaning chemicals, hangers) and proactively report needs to management to ensure continuous operation.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries regarding laundry services with professionalism, discretion, and a helpful demeanor, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Adhere to the hotel's rigorous standards for quality control and efficiency in all laundry operations, striving for excellence in every task.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in commercial laundry operations, specifically with dry cleaning and industrial washing machines.
- In-depth knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate cleaning methods (wet cleaning, dry cleaning, spotting techniques, and chemical usage).
- Ability to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial laundry equipment effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to high-quality, pristine results.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy laundry bags, push carts, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also seamlessly as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards in a laundry facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Previous experience specifically within a hotel or hospitality laundry department.
- Certification in dry cleaning or laundry management from a recognized institution.
- Basic proficiency in English for effective communication with colleagues and supervisors.
